About Kennedy
Kennedy Adams is a graphic designer, letterpress printer, and educator currently pursuing an M.F.A. in Graphic Design at Indiana University. She is the lead of Homage Press & Studio, a design and print practice with an international scope specializing in poster-making, typographic experimentation, and print culture. She also hosts Pressing Questions, a podcast exploring design, typography, and the people behind print culture.
Her work explores the space between legibility and abstraction in typography, using experimental processes and unconventional materials to challenge traditional expectations of letterforms. Often blending analog techniques with bold design, her practice questions what makes type readable—or unreadable—and how meaning can be shaped through texture, rhythm, and form. By embracing material play and process-based making, she invites viewers to experience typography not only as a tool for communication but also as a tactile, visual language that pushes the boundaries of design.

Teaching
My teaching philosophy is grounded in three core objectives: cultivating an environment where students feel both challenged and supported in producing high-caliber work; bridging theory and practice by drawing on my professional experience to prepare students for the realities of the design field while building their confidence to thrive in client and collaborative settings; and teaching with empathy through a culturally responsive approach that values diverse perspectives and fosters inclusive learning.
